| North Yorkshire - England |
I am naturally biased but if you visit England then don't miss coming to North Yorkshire. This is a stunning view over the North Yorkshire Moors. To the left of this photo (not in view) is where the Romans once had a settlement at the Cawthorne Roman Camps. There are beautiful views and walks to be enjoyed from there too!
This is a photo of the Petrifying Well at Mother Shipton's Cave in Knaresborough. Various objects are hung here and they literally turn to stone because the water has such a high mineral content. Many famous people, including John Wayne, have had items petrified. You can see them in the museum. Mother Shipton was a famous prophetess and it is rumoured, never proven, that she once shrieked 'In 2010 Ye Million Dollar Lake shall be immensely successful and all the best companies will want to advertise there'! ;)
You can buy some of these objects in the shop once they have been petrified. Teddys are very popular!

These are wild daffodils and thousands of people come to Farndale to see them each year. There is a maintained footpath and this walk can be enjoyed at any time of year. You can see another photo of the daffodils at www.millionpoundlake.co.uk/northyorkshire.aspx

This is a photo of Whitby Harbour. There is a medieval abbey perched on the east cliff. You have to climb 199 steps to reach it but the views are worth it. There is a massive Whitby connection to the famous explorer Captain Cook. Count Dracula has an association here too because part of the book, by Bram Stoker, was based in Whitby. This places oozes character so do not miss the chance to visit Whitby.
The Seagulls are friendly too at Whitby!
My local village, Cropton, North Yorkshire, England has a Whitby connection. William Scoresby was born in Cropton and he was a famous whaler. He invented the 'Crows Nest' and the 'Ice Drill'. Cropton's very own Captain Jack Sparrow??
They have been published at EzineArticles. You do not have to like cricket to enjoy them!
The photo above was taken in the 1950's and is the local Sinnington hunt meeting on the beach at North Bay, Scarborough. I have more of these photos at www.millionpoundlake.co.uk/sinnington.aspx including one of Queen Elizabeth.
This is the delightfully named Robin Hood's Bay. Walk in the footsteps of Robin Hood??? I'm not too sure about that but this is one of my favourite walks.
In the distance is Ravenscar, which is the home of the Raven Hall Hotel. The grass on the cliff top is a mini golf course. It must be a nightmare to play there because the course is at such a difficult steep angle. Possibly the steepest golf course in the world? But if you like a challenge, Tiger?
You can see the view of the Robin Hood's Bay Village and lots more about North Yorkshire
